International projects in education
Projects
Through international projects in education, PH Zurich shares its expertise in education with universities, schools and other organisations in fledgling democracies in South Eastern Europe and various emerging economies.
The focus is on steering education processes, developing and implementing education strategies, reforming curricula and working on new approaches to teaching. Work is often completed on the ground – at universities, schools or refugee drop-in centres.
These projects in education generate a wealth of experience and knowledge relating to international cooperation, opening up different perspectives on teaching, facilitating transcultural learning and often offering an outside view of the national educational system. This knowledge is shared with teaching staff and students in lectures and through other internal events, ensuring it is fed back into PH Zurich.

Department for International Projects in Education
The work carried out by the Department for International Projects in Education at PH Zurich is based on the belief that education is key to peaceful societies and that exchanging knowledge between individuals, schools and universities across borders is essential to delivering high-quality education. As a Swiss institution, PH Zurich is committed to doing its bit on the way to achieving the education goals set out in the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The Department for International Projects in Education at PH Zurich has been working with prestigious partner institutions, such as the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, UNICEF, the OECD, the WHO, the European Union and the Council of Europe, since it was established over 10 years ago. PH Zurich provides the expertise collated through its international partnerships as a service. This may relate to negotiations, curriculum development and the inclusion of minority groups, for example.
